If you don’t know what buffalo chicken dip is, my friend, you are about to learn something that’ll change your perception of reality.
Basically, someone took the concept of buffalo chicken wings and turned it into a deliciously and expertly crafted dipping sauce, perfect for chips and celery.
So, I’ve been using this exact recipe ever since I found out about buffalo chicken dip in 2012. I like it because this particular recipe takes under $10 and about 5 minutes to make. Yes, it’s the definition of “simple recipe.” SO! Here’s how you make this bomb buffalo chicken dip.
You’ll need Ranch dressing, crumbled blue cheese, 1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 celery stick, a bottle of Red’s Hot Sauce, a block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and a rotisserie chicken.
First step: preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Next, (after washing your hands…) start off by peeling off the skin and cleaning the meat off the chicken. Although the skin is tasty, you don’t want that in the dip! Shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces using your hands or carve the bird up into pieces that are small enough to be held up by a chip. And this goes for all the meat, white and dark!
Pour half a bottle of Red’s Hot Sauce into a mixing bowl, followed by half a cup of ranch dressing, and scoop in half a cup of blue cheese crumbles. Then, add a handful of the shredded cheddar cheese and the block of cream cheese before mixing it all together.
Next, dice the celery stick and add it into the mixture and give it another stir. The celery is an optional ingredient, but I think it adds texture and, also, tricks you into thinking you’re eating something healthy. Because there’s one vegetable in there.
Next add the shredded chicken into the mixing bowl, giving it one final stir before transferring it into an oven safe dish. After that, cover the top with the shredded cheddar and pop it into the oven for 30 minutes.
And, that’s it, you’ve just created the Megan Stone-approved buffalo chicken dip that’s been my Super Bowl must-have for 6 years. You and your party guests are gonna love it!
