It takes a lot of talent for an artist to reinvent their music while still sounding like themselves. It’s no wonder why they kept their oldest fans hungry for more of their music!
Zedd / Maren Morris / Grey – The Middle
It’s not often someone teams up with a retail chain to promote their music… but when they do, it’s always Target. Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey dropped the official music video for this song during the 60th GRAMMY Awards. But, before the big reveal, Target teased the song using #MoreMusic surprises. And, it worked! By the time the song dropped, we were extremely curious. Plus, that harmonic hook is insanely catchy!
Zedd couldn’t stop gushing about his new masterpiece:
“We worked really hard on this record to get it just right and it feels great to be able to finally share it with everyone. It was super fun working with Maren because she is clearly an amazing singer and very talented musician. And, I always love working with Grey because we push ourselves to make the best music possible and the end result is incredible.”
Zedd’s come out with several major hits since he burst onto the music scene , including “Get Low” with Liam Payne, “Stay” with Alessia Cara, and “Clarity” with Foxes. But he’s also teamed up with several amazing acts for new music, including Kesha, Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez.
Maren is a relatively new artist, but already she’s turning heads in the music world. She’s touring with Niall Horan this year, if you need any proof.
When asked about “The Middle,” she couldn’t hold back her excitement:
“I’m so excited we’re finally able to share The Middle with the world. Zedd was so great to work with and so easy-going, it felt like we’d been working together for years. The sound is reflective of my many influences as an artist – a little bit country, little pop, little R&B, relatable, emotional and catchy as hell. There are no limits with this song and I can’t wait to see how the fans react.”
Gavin James – Hearts On Fire
From Dublin, Ireland, Gavin James is another Irish heavy-hitter in the song making world. Ever since the 26-year-old coming out in 2016 with his first album “Bitter Pill,” James sold over 2 million singles and performed over 500 sold out tours across the world. He’s huge internationally, but he’s recently started gaining a following here in the States. Despite a hectic touring schedule, he had time to run into the recording studio and bang out a 2nd album, that he currently hasn’t named yet. But, it is due out later this year.
Tickets for his tour go on sale this Friday. What you can expect from James is unparalleled vocals and poignant lyrics. Truly, you’ll want to buy his album when it comes out based on this single alone.
