Coming out in 2002, OneRepublic continues to be a major mover and shaker in the music world. It currently consists of consisting of lead vocalist Ryan Tedder, guitarist Zach Filkins, guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher.
These guys were originally discovered on Myspace before slowly doing the tour scene around LA in 2003. By 2005, they signed with a company connected to the massive Columbia Records and worked with legendary producer Greg Wells. Their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, earned major success mostly because their single, “Apologize” became a worldwide hit. It dropped a couple months before the album’s release and became #1 Myspace. Back then, that was a pretty big deal!
Their follow-up single, Stop and Stare, also earned similar accolades and helped push sales of their debut album, which inevitably led them to reach certified Platinum status.
The band continued their success with their 2009 album, Waking Up, which produced the hits All The Right Moves, Secrets, Good Life, and Marchin On. Although successful, only Good Life managed to crack the top 10 on the charts.
So, back to the drawing board the band went and, in 2013, they came out with Native. Which, understandably, is their biggest album yet. It produced the hits If I Lose Myself and Counting Stars.
The band’s latest album Oh My My, which came out in 2016, wasn’t as massive as Native, but it still produced some good radio hits such as Kids.
Still, the band is one of the best selling bands in history by amassing over 50 million record sales worldwide!
