Music You Should Know: Imagine Dragons and Train

Music You Should Know: Imagine Dragons and Train

Two very strong song of the summer contenders!!

Imagine Dragons – Natural

The biggest rock band right now is back with another thunderous single, “Natural.”  While their new album Evolve already reached double platinum status (and produced hits like Believer, Thunder, and Whatever It Takes,) this song didn’t appear on the album.  In fact, it’s a standalone single made exclusively for ESPN’s college football season.

Lead singer Dan Reynolds explains the inspiration behind the song:

“Living in a dog-eat-dog world can bring out the worst in you, and sometimes, the best.  It would be a lie to tell you I haven’t become somewhat skeptical about some things in the last decade of my life. However, I believe that when you truly learn to love yourself, the judging eyes and hateful words become meaningless. ‘Natural’ is about finding yourself and being willing and able to stand up to whatever adversity comes your way.”

Train ft. Cam & Travie McCoy – Call Me Sir

We never knew this was the dream team until it finally happened… Train + Cam + Travie McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes fame) = amazing. Call Me Sir blends country music, pop, and hip hop… which means it’s entirely infectious and will make you want to dance around.

This romantic song explores how society treats a man differently when he’s with his wife.  Pat Monahan, lead singer of Train, says this song is based on his own experiences!

“It’s a true story and I love what these 2 bring to the song. I hope everyone will like this one as much as we love performing it.”
