The Script released their first album in 2008, but they were actually making music long before that. They used to be an Irish boy band called Mytown and produced music for many famous artists including: Boyz II Men, Britney Spears, and TLC. It’s only natural that the band would come out with their own, hit music eventually.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, they also developed their band and music in London. After going back and forth from living in LA and living in the UK, they settled back in their home town of Dublin to record music for the first time together. There are three members to the group: Danny O’ Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, and Glen Power. Mark and Danny are childhood friends and once they found their drummer, Glen, The Script was born.
They’ve come out with a couple catchy songs that got popular here in the U.S. “Breakeven” and “Live Like We’re Dying” are the two that most people know. Their sound is influenced by a lot of different bands: The Neptunes (Pharrell’s R&B group), Coldplay, and Snow Patrol. You can definitely hear all those musical influences in The Script’s music.
It’s been two years since The Script came out with new music, and they’re really excited to finally release some new stuff. “Superheroes” is the debut single off the new album, No Sound Without Silence, which came out in September. “Superheroes” is a very uplifting and happy song because that’s how the band feels right now.
