Nicole L. Russohas recently been named an"Outstanding Advocate and Children & Youth on Long Island"NICOLE RUSSO is one of the top individuals to receive the 2nd Annual OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH AWARD on October 17th for outstanding civic and community support! Help support Nicole in her goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 for this important fundraiser.Proceeds support the John J. Byrne Community Center of Uniondale's programs and services for the children and families of the region! Nicole Russo has lived in Garden City for more than 20 years. She is a graduate of Garden City High School and Monmouth University, class of 2009, where she received a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Criminal Justice & Music Industry). While attending college, Nicole held many positions within her local chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau and was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Honor Society. Nicole has also completed internships with Monmouth University’s General Counsel Office, Monmouth County Public Defenders Office and Warner Music Group’s Business Development department in New York City. In 2011, she was awarded the "Outstanding Sorority Alumni Award" by Monmouth University for her philanthropic efforts since graduating. Currently, she is attending Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology and working towards a B.S. in Airport Management & Air Traffic Control.
Nicole is currently one of the Regional Coordinators of Intergovernmental Relations for New York State Assembly Minority Leader, Brian Kolb and in the past has worked in New York State Senator Kemp Hannon's District Office as a Web Communications Specialist. She is Chairman of the Nassau County Young Republican Club, Corresponding Secretary of the New York State Young Republicans and Co-Chair of the Technology Committee of the Young Republican National Federation. Recently, Nicole was awarded the Nassau County Federation of Republican Women's Spencer Pearl Schockett Scholarship for her work in local politics. Nicole is also the Cooresponding Secretary for the Garden City Kiwanis and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Garden City Eastern Property Owners Association.
