Clara Gillens Eromoselehas recently been named an"Outstanding Advocate and Children & Youth on Long Island"Clara Gillens Eromosele is one of the top individuals to receive the 2nd Annual OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH AWARD on October 17th for outstanding civic and community support!  Help support Clara in her goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 for this important fundraiser.Proceeds support the John J. Byrne Community Center of Uniondale's programs and services for the children and families of the region! For the past nineteen years, Clara Gillens Eromosele has held positions as employee and consultant to several For-Profit and Not-for-Profit Corporations, as well as several community based organizations. This has allowed her to work with several foundations, Banking Institutions, Federal, State and local government agencies.She is currently the CEO of Progressive Management Group Inc. Progressive Management Group Inc. is a Long Island New York based consulting firm providing Resource and Program Development, Project Management, Technical Assistance and Capacity building to Municipalities, Faith-based Institutions, For-Profit and Not-for-Profit Corporations.March 2008 – Present: Clara currently is a consultant working as the Community Liaison for the Roosevelt Community Revitalization Group, the Hagedorn Foundation and Sustainable Long Island to build a multi-use facility in Roosevelt. The project currently called the Hagedorn Project is a community driven project. An organization of residents and stakeholders; The Roosevelt Community Revitalization Group is the local group spearheading the project. These groups are also working to empower residents to take control and make positive change in their community and to implement revitalization projects from 2002 community wide visioning process. Responsibilities include:• Provide technical assistance to Roosevelt Community Revitalization Group• Engage larger community participation• Identify and assist in the application of new sources of funding to advance implementation goals• Assist SLI with RCRG communication strategy development and execution• Development of PR materials• Guide the development & implementation of outreach strategy• Coordinate community input component for Hagedorn Hub Project• Assist with organizing community wide forums• Act as RCRG liaison with Town and County officials• Provide information sharing with local municipalities• Ensure community representation at meetings with relevant stakeholders• Promote RCRG involvement in business development on Nassau Rd.May 2006 –September 2009: Clara worked as Coordinator with the Uniondale-Roosevelt Weed and Seed Community Collaboration, overseeing the implementation of a Crime prevention strategy funded by the United States Justice Department and working closely with Local Law Enforcement, and the United State Attorney for the Eastern District in community policing projects. Clara recently implemented a cross community re-entry collaborative project for the previously incarcerated returning to the Uniondale and Roosevelt Communities.July 2002-September 2009: As a Consultant to Memorial Youth Outreach Council Inc. a faith-based 501(c) 3 corporation located in Roosevelt, NY. Clara is currently working to develop/identify financial resources for at-risk youth programs operating at MYOC.1992-2002: Roosevelt Assistance Corp. is a state funded Local Neighborhood Preservation and Housing Development Organization. As Executive Director Clara was responsible for overseeing the development and primary objectives established by the agency. She obtained HUD certification for RAC to provide financial debt counseling to first-time homebuyers and assisted in the securing of site designation for Roosevelt, New York Community as Neighborhood Based Alliance Site in 1993 and in1998 as a Weed and Seed Site. Clara worked with the Nassau County Youth Board to lead the collaboration to write a Five-year Strategic Neighborhood Action Plan for the Roosevelt community.1989-1996 LI Women’s Equal Opportunity Council Inc, Roosevelt New YorkClara as Executive Director successfully operated a State funded Weatherization Agency providing energy related repairs for Nassau County residents. As Executive Director she had oversight of an annual budget well over $1.5 million. Responsible for program development and oversight for programs such as NYS Weatherization Assistance Program, LI Home Energy Assistance program and NYS Division of housing and Community Renewal RESTORE project, an emergency repair program for senior citizens.Additionally, since 04/1997, Ms. Eromosele has been the District Secretary to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Roosevelt Fire District.
