The Fields of Margraten: Bitter Harvest In 1944, the Netherlands town of Margraten had 1,300 residents. By V-Day their lives had been changed forever after a US Army company of 280 African-American servicemen were commanded to take over much of their farm lands and dig the largest American and Allied forces cemetery in World War II, interring over 28,000. The evening will feature a Q&A with the last surviving gravedigger, New Fairfield resident Jeff Wiggins, who was interviewed during the making of this sobering documentary. Held in partnership with Connecticut Film Festival and Some Things Fishy Catering.Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Tickets: $20 for each film/ $65 for all four (February 8, 13, 20, 27).« Back to Calendar
