In past years,The Break Contest has brought out some of the best local talent that the northeast has seen, and we are especially excited to see what talent is yet to come as we move on to another great year. We have been working hard to make this The Break Contest even more special than ever before.We have been printing tickets and getting together your packets. We will be sending them all out this week so if you do not receive your packets by Friday December 28th, please contact us and let us know. Below is a list of Round 1 dates by venue, please do not assume you are playing a specific show until you receive your ticket packet. We have done our best to accommodate each band to the closest venue by their listed address but may have made some changes since you registered. All artists to perform one cover song as the THIRD SONG of their set. Judges will only be scoring the first three songs of each performance (third being a cover).All artists are to honor all rules and regulations set forth by individual venues and The Break Contest. More complete rules are available at: TheBreakContest.com/rules.htmlPLEASE NOTE: There will be a radius clause enforced: No band may play any show 30 days before or after any Break show they are assigned to play within 45 miles of The Break Contest Venue without permission by The Break Contest staff.Artists are to perform family friendly sets, taking into account that our audiences will include families with children. Judges will note any poor judgments made on stage. (Bands/artist have been yanked off stage for excessive cursing, don’t let this be you!)Artist to honor all rules and policies set forth in agreement between artists and The Break Contest & Max Cruise as well as individual venue rules, and this will affect the overall scoring.Artists must provide their own working instruments and gear upon arrival at venues. Faulty equipment will result in loss of time. Full back-line will be provided including a four piece drum kit with two cymbal stands and one hi-hat stand (no cymbals will be provided). Amp heads, pedals, guitars, cymbals, snare, kick pedal and anything else needed to perform should be brought, on time, at the appointed load-in time.For artists who sell less than 30 tickets, The Break Contest has the right to change set times without notice or contact.Artists will compete at the Round 1 venue closest to their home area, but may be asked to participate in shows outside of their hometowns as they move on in the contest.
