OISS No-Commitment Book Club: The Color Purple
It’s the easiest book club ever! Discussions center around the novel, but also explore the broader context of the particular moment in U.S. history. We sometimes invite knowledgeable guest speakers to lead the discussion, and supplement the program with additional materials (videos, music, etc).February's book: The Color Purple by Alice Walker, set in rural Georgia in the 1930s. It is not necessary to read the book in order to attend the discussion.
