After the screening, there will be a panel discussion lead by Teresa Younger and Livvy Floren. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at www.ywcagreenwich.org or www.jlgreenwich.org. Please contact Nichole Perna for more information at (203) 869-6501 ext. 161 or n.perna@ywcagreenwich.org. Miss Representation, written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which makes it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.
