Bonding with Babies Through Music Ages would be birth to 8 mths 1 hour workshop - limited space 12 familiesOffered by Julie Capuano Music Together of Monroe/Newtown LLC The Power of Art Therapy; or How this Works! A Community Workshop to inform the general publicThis educational experiential workshop is for adult community members with minimal knowledge of art therapy who may be interested in understanding this clinical creative form of healing. For the initial 30 to 40 minutes, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a group art therapy experiential activity led by a credentialed art therapist. Following this a psycho-educational discussion will be facilitated providing explanation and insight into the brief example group session experienced. The leading art therapists will also provide information on the increased benefits of how art therapy with a trained professional is a useful therapeutic intervention when healing complex trauma. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions. An additional purpose of this art therapy experiential is to encourage and initiate opportunity for community members to enroll individuals of all ages and backgrounds in a series of group art therapy sessions to be hosted by members of the Art Therapy Connecticut Task force throughout the Spring of 2013.
