Today's Star is brought to you by:
The soft-spoken, handsome redhead. First impression of Ed Sheeran? That's what came to mind when I first saw photos of the man behind one of the biggest hits of 2012. Whenever I hear a new song by an artist I do not know, I immediately head to iTunes. I need to know how many albums they put out, check for the "popular" songs and listen. Ed's debut album, "Plus" was it. He would later release "Lego House" as the second single from the record, but as far as listeners were concerned, "A-Team" was the song that mattered. If you bought the album, you would know just how talented Ed Sheeran is. Besides having a velvety smooth voice that wraps you up in his lyrics, Ed can kick it up a notch. In songs like You Need Me, I Don't Need You and U.N.I Ed shows off his beat-boxing skills to get his point across. I like it! Ed hit big in the U.K with his first album. He won two BRIT Awards: Best British Male & British Breakthrough. "The A-Team" won best song musically and lyrically.
What has Ed been up to? He bought a farm near Framlingham, Suffolk where he's from. It's under renovation now but Ed says he'd like to raise a family there someday. He took some time to help out fellow musicians like Taylor Swift. Ed opened most of her shows on her previous Red tour. He also co-wrote the majority of songs for One Directions album, Up All Night. I think it's safe to say that Ed is ready to come back and focus more on his own music. Well, his tweet over the weekend leaves me hopeful- "studio bound." Posted below is Ed's Grammy performance with Sir Elton John, it's wonderful! Who would you like to see Ed duet with?
