Adele- Does anyone NOT know her name? Even if you aren't familiar with all of her music, you have heard her name, and if not, then get out from under that rock! Adele is "it." She's young, talented, gorgeous and has already won a ton of awards! She's a singer/songwriter musician from the UK (again, if you've been under a rock) and has been active in the biz since 2006. Let's break it down a bit:

In 2006 Adele was offered a contract from XL Recordings after her friend posted her demo on MySpace.

In 2008 we received Adele's debut album, 19 It was a huge commercial success and was just the beginning for Adele. Later that year, she performed on SNL and that gave her a boost of recognition.

2009 she won big at the Grammys, taking home awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance!

2011 gave us her second album, 21. It was instantly approved by fans and critics! that album earned Adele 6 Grammy awards, including Album of the Year! The album also scored Adele 2 BRIT awards and 3 AMA's.

2012 brought us the most recent of songs from Adele. She released the single Skyfall for the newest James Bond flick with the same title. She's been busy these days with becoming a first time Mommy, but she promises us a new album soon. A new collaboration track with Wiz Khalifa might be surfacing soon though, so keep a lookout for that!

Adele has said that she taught herself how to sing by listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Roberta Flack. Her biggest musical influences are Etta James, Beyonce and P!nk.

The video below is an acoustic version of her song Chasing Pavements. It's the first song to come from Adele. I remember the first time I heard it..it was featured on VH1 and I just remember thinking, where did this girl come from?! She blew me away with both her voice and lyrics. Take a break from the Monday madness and enjoy!
