Today*s Star: The Neighbourhood

The Neighbourhood (The NBHD) are:

Jesse Rutherford, Jeremy Freedman, Zach Abels, Mikey Margott and Bryan Sammis

They're a new band from LA and have only been around since 2011, but their latest single "Sweater Weather" has made an impact on the airwaves. By May 2013 they had two EP's out on iTunes called I'm Sorry... and Thank You. April of this year is when their debut album I Love You dropped. The album is a a bit haunting, but Jesse Rutherford's voice is sexy and soothing and totally works over the funky beats and synthesizers. Looking at the album cover can pretty much sum up the feel of the album. I'm really into it because the Neighbourhood crosses several genres in between songs. Indie rock mixed with some electro-pop and even some R&B. The album is doing well, especially with "Sweater Weather" being a huge hit! What do you think of the song?

The NBHD are putting themselves out there, over the summer they performed at Coachella and SXSW music festivals. They toured with Imagine Dragons for part of the Night Visions tour. Enjoy a live version of Sweater Weather below, Happy Friday!
