Chris Daughtry was a finalist of American Idol season 5. He ended up finishing in fourth place, but that didn't stop him from writing a hit debut album! In 2006, their self-titled album reached number one on the Billboard 200 and sold over 4 million copies in the U.S! Chris Daughtry was thoroughly involved with the process of that album-he wrote and produced the majority of the songs. Since 2006, Daughtry has released two more hit albums, Leave This Town and Break the Spell.
Chris Daughtry opened up about working on the new album (titled Baptized) He said he wanted to put out something different, he needed to be challenged. He told Rolling Stone Magazine, the sound of the new album may throw fans for a loop, but that's what he is going for. Chris said he's always been a sucker for pop melodies. "I love the Katy Perry stuff, P!nk, Imagine Dragons-even Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers." That being said, he has incorporated a lot of that pop rock mixed with folk rock sound into the new album. Sounds pretty awesome to me! I love when artists/bands attempt something different. Mix it up and get out of their "comfort zone" a bit.
