Today*s Star: Lady Gaga

Stefani Germanotta who transformed into the eccentric, amazing Lady Gaga that we know today, is doing it all! Born and raised in NYC, Lady Gaga is a singer-wongwriter, producer, activist and businesswoman. She's been playing the piano since she was 4 years old, and wrote her first piano ballad when she was just 13! She attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, but withdrew to focus on her musical career.

Let's break it down: 2007 Gaga first was working as a songwriter and Akon signed her to his personal label that year after hearing her sing.

2008 was a big year for Lady Gaga, she rose to instant fame upon the release of her debut album, The Fame. That album gave us "Just Dance" and "Poker Face." In 2009 she released an EP called The Fame Monster. Remember that song she did with Beyonce? Telephone. One of my favs from Gaga.

The end of 2009 Lady Gaga kicked off what is now one of the highest grossing tours, The Monster Ball tour. It's been described as the first ever pop-electro opera. When Lady Gaga performs, she gives you a show!

2011 she released the album Born This Way. Reviews praised the entire concept for the album, and Lady Gaga was called a theatrical phenomenon. If you have attended any of Gaga's shows then you have to agree!

This past November, Lady Gaga released her highly anticipated album, Artpop. Her intention with this album was to make her audience have a "really good time from start to finish." Gaga describes this album as the reverse of Andy Warhol. "I'm bringing high art to pop music." You be the judge, the album is available on iTunes.

Lady Gaga says her influences are David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Queen. She's known for her diversity and flamboyance, both with her music and personal attire. People either really like her or really don't. I love what Lady Gaga stands for. She is who she is, plain and simple!

Here's a new song off Artpop called "Gypsy" enjoy!
