Trending this Week: Caribbean Tunes & an Epic Love Story

Cheerleader - Omi

You are going to be hearing this song a lot in the next coming months. I’ve already heard it a lot already! And there’s a good reason why it’s played so often: it’s very catchy.

Omi is a singer from Jamaica and we haven’t really known about him until now. His real name is Omar Samuel Palsey. The song Cheerleader has already gone to number one in over 9 countries internationally and is number 26 on the U.S. Top 40 Billboard Chart.

You can definitely hear the Caribbean Island feel in the song. I think that’s why it’s quickly becoming the song of summer 2015.

Hold Back the River- James Bay

Another great love song from an amazingly talented male singer. I’m loving it! But James Bay is much different than our regular British romantic, Ed Sheeran. James has his own style that is a little more alternative rock, and you can hear that in his hit song Hold Back the River.

James Bay came out with his debut album, Chaos and the Calm, this previous March and it went straight to number one in the UK. I think that has a lot to do with his hit song, Hold Back the River. I love this song. It just reminds me of an epic scene in a movie or a great love story.
