Today*s Star- Avicii

In 2011, Avicii released his single Levels, a dance-electronic hit featuring the hook from Etta James' Something's Got a Hold on Me. Levels grabbed him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Dancing Recording and a top 10 song in over 10 countries.  It was also the song that brought the 21 year old Swedish DJ to international success, making him a household name among the emerging mainstream landscape of electronic dance music. 

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1989. His musical influences are Swedish House Mafia, a Swedish electronic music group, and Daft Punk .Avicii has collaborated with a lot of different artists. He did a song with rapper Flo Rida, Good Feeling, and he produced Coldplay's song, A Sky Full of Stars. 

Many people have claimed that Avicii, along with other artists such as David Guetta and Daft Punk, has helped bring electronic dance music into the forefront of modern popular music. He even made history in 2012 when he was the first DJ to play at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Wake Me Up is his most popular song and it features vocals from the very talented Aloe Blacc. The song was number one in over 20 countries and it was the first dance/electronic song to stay on the U.S. Charts for over a year.
