Today*s Star-OneRepublic

Remember MySpace? The social networking site where everyone with some kind of "band" would have a page and you could listen to a couple songs. Well, thats exactly how OneRepublic got its start. They’re probably one of the greatest MySpace band success stories, considering their music does very well on an international level.

Formed in 2003 in Colorado, they didn't become recognizable until their song "Apologize" was released as a remix with Timbaland in 2007. This song became number one in about 16 countries. They then released two more albums after that, their most recent one being Native.

OneRepublic has definitely evolved since their first album. Lead singer and main songwriter Ryan Tedder says they experimented with an "electronic style" for their latest album native, because that's what is trending now in music. Ryan Tedder has actually written a bunch of popular songs for other artists including but not limited to: Beyonce's "Halo", Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" and Demi Lovato's "Neon Lights".

"I Lived" is a tribute to Ryan Tedder's son and it's an awesome song. It was also featured in some commercials. Basically the message is: live life to the fullest! As of now, no new music planned for OneRepublic, but Ryan Tedder did help Adele with her new upcoming album and they just performed at the big Apple event last week!
