After years of trying to have a commercially successful album, I think this is finally the year English DJ Mark Ronson will get one. His hit song Uptown Funk broke records of being number one for  3 and half months straight and has sold over 5 million copies. It’s probably because of the amazing voice on it: Mr. Bruno Mars. But also accompanying Bruno’s fantastic vocals is Mark Ronson’s musical genius behind it.   It makes you dance wherever you are, has a modern, but throwback vibe to it, and is just really fun to listen to.

Mark Ronson grew up in England but went to college in the U.S. at New York University and Vassar College. He started experimenting with the New York City club scene and was exposed to all kinds of music. He started DJing regularly and was even the house DJ at Justin Timberlake’s club at one point. Mark released his first album in 2003 and although it caught some buzz, it did not do as well as a musician would hope.

Same story with his 2nd album as well, but Mark Ronson always had his hands in many different projects. He has co-written with Kanye West, and produced for English artists like Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and Robbie Williams.

His third album came out last winter.
