Pink has always been an “anti-pop” pop star. I remember when she first came onto the music scene with her debut song, “Get the Party Started”. She was so different from all the other female singers at the time: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson. She had this edgy, feminine power about her that everyone seemed to enjoy, especially when that attitude came out in her music.

Pink’s real name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart and she grew up in Pennsylvania. She always loved to sing and perform, so she joined a couple bands and did gigs in Philadelphia when she was only 14 years old. A couple years later, she was in an all-girl R & B group called Choice. They were only around for a couple years and then broke up. Pink went solo after that.

Six albums later, and over 40 million sold worldwide, Pink is one of the biggest musical acts out there. So much so that she was named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2013. Her tours are also phenomenal as well. Pink has always evolved herself and that is definitely what she did with her live shows. It’s a combination of a traditional concert with a Cirque du Soleil show. Pink is singing upside down, doing acrobatics across the stage and flying through the air.

Pink is laying low from the pop scene right now. She's actually in a new folk duo called You + Me, which is a little out of the ordinary, but just goes to show Pink can do anything.  She’s also just enjoying having time with her family- her daughter Willow and husband Carey Hart. Supposedley, Pink is also working on her 7th album, but is in no rush.
