There's no denying that Lorde reached massive success from the very beginning of her music career- her first single Royals was heard and played almost everywhere, and it won her two Grammy's, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance in 2013. The song was number one on the charts for nine weeks in a row, and Rolling Stone Magazine called it the 2nd best song of that year. It's funny that Royals put Lorde on the map, because she eventually confessed to "being sick of the song", since it was played so heavily.

Lorde is a 19 year old girl from New Zealand. Her actual name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor. She took singing and drama classes when she was little and was signed to Universal Records when she was 13 years old. She decided to go as "Lorde" because she has always been fascinated with royalty, especially the British Monarchy.

No doubt Lorde has a long music career ahead of her. Her debut album did extremely well, she wrote a song for one of the Hunger Games movie and got nominated for a Golden Globe for it. Lorde has been teasing her 2nd album for about 2 years now. 2016 is the year she is going to release it, but she is being very secretive about it.  We'll have to wait and see!
