20-year-old Alessia Cara may have had a slower start to musical fame compared to other artists her age, but she isn't going anywhere for awhile.

Included in Disney's smash hit "Moana" by singing a song penned by Lin Manuel Miranda, the man who created Broadway's SMASH HIT "Hamilton," Alessia's powerful vocals and messages of inner strength and certainty are attracting attention from all the right people to keep her career burning bright.

Dubbed a sleeper hit, her first single, "Here" was released in April 2015 with little promotion and the lukewarm reception to its opening.  However, it sprung to the top 5 by the fall and remained there for 25 weeks!

Now out with a massive song that praises your inner beauty, "Scars to Your Beautiful," Alessia is enjoying her second round on the Billboard charts.

When asked about the song, Alessia said, "Basically, that song is about body image. It's directed at women, but I think men can relate to it as well. It's just a song about these things that certain women go through on a daily basis in order to feel loved or in order to love themselves. I think that's such a thing that goes on in today's world. These weird things are instilled in us. You know? That tell us that we’re not good enough or that there's only one kind of beauty. This song basically is contradicting that idea."
