Omar's Sangria

  • 1 peach, 1 pear and 1 orange, cut into 2cm (¾in) pieces
  • 1 punnet strawberries
  • 500ml (18fl oz) lemonade
  • 1 bottle of Spanish red wine
  •  Ice

For the syrup

  • 200g (7oz) caster sugar
  • 200ml (7fl oz) water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 200ml (7fl oz) triple sec

To prepare the syrup, place the sugar, water and cinnamon stick in a pan over a medium heat, and bring to the boil. Add the triple sec and bring to the boil again. Place the fruit in a bowl and pour the syrup over, stir and chill. Fill a large jug with ice cubes and pour in a quarter of the fruit and syrup mixture. In separate jugs, mix half the remaining syrup mixture with lemonade and the other half with wine. Stir both, pour into the jug in equal measures and serve immediately.
