Eat, Drink & Be Merry: Raw Fruit Chips

Directions:

1. Buy a bunch of fruit (preferably organic), wash it and cut it into chunks. I used 2 granny smith apples, 1 pears, a pint of raspberries and a 2 cups of strawberries strawberries. Makes 6-8 servings of fruit chips, 10-20 fruit leathers, depending on she size or if you’re rolling them up.
2. Place fruit in a blender with 2 cups of water, and the juice of half a lemon. Puree into a smooth paste.
3. Grease the fruit rolling sheet (one may have come with your dehydrator, if not they are easy to purchase in kitchen appliance stores) with some coconut oil.
4. Pour the puree on the sheet making sure it is evenly distributed.
5. Dehydrate at 117 degrees for 8 hours for fruit leathers and  10 hours for fruit chips. Times vary for different dehydrators so just check them throughout the process.
6. When the fruit is dry to the touch in the middle, take the trays out of the dehydrator and either cut into sizes you like for fruit leathers, fruit rolls, or if yu’re making chips just tear the dehydrated mix by hand. It shouldn’t be completely crumbling but it should crack in places.

I store them in ziploc bags in the cupboard but you can also store in tupperware or mason jars in the fridge. Enjoy!
