Is there hope for Fairfield Little League team players to go on to greatness? Some famous Major League Baseball players ALSO played in the Little League World Series. Former Yankee and Mets player Gary Sheffield, for example, played in the Little League World Series in 1980, and then went on to win it all with the Florida Marlins in 1997.
