In 2004 Renee Zellweger scooped up a 1770 farmhouse in Pomfret, CT, a quaint New England town isolated from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment industry.  The Oscar-winning actress, famous for movies like Cold Mountain, Bridget Jone’s Diary and Jerry Maguire, bought the property to fix up and use as a vacation retreat.  She went to work rehabbing the 39 acre estate, called the Cotton Tavern, updating the buildings and the grounds over the course of seven years.

Now that the renovation is complete, it’s time to sell.  She is listing the New England retreat for $1.5 million, with Coldwell Banker Previews International.  “Renee has enjoyed the property for a number of years, however her current work schedule and travel commitments do not allow her to visit the property as frequently as she would like,” explains Jonathan Radford, a vice president for Coldwell Banker Previews International and the listing agent for the property. “The house is simply elegant.
