Meet Freya! She is a 5-month-old Labrador retriever mix, and she is available for adoption at the Westport location of the Connecticut Humane Society. Here are some notes on the type of home she is looking for!
~I can live in a single-family home, condos and apartments considered. ~I have not had much experience with children but am willing to consider sharing my home with kids who can be gentle and respectful of pets. ~I would like to live with a dog, but I have not had much experience with cats. I may be willing to share my home with a feline. ~I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day.
~I may be medium sized now, but I have the potential to grow to upwards of 100 pounds once I reach adulthood.

Aubrey says that her family is old school, no one will do that and then they’ll just receive random gifts for their home that they don’t want. A 4-year-old boy in Toronto, Canada who was born with a hearing issue recently had a surgery on the inner part of his ear which allowed him to hear for the first time in his life.
The boy’s reaction to hearing his family members for the first time is amazing.
One of the most buzzed about sports lately is Pickleball. It’s sort of like mini tennis. Smaller than a tennis court, but larger than ping pong. You use paddles, an almost wiffle ball like ball, and compete either solo or in two person teams. Very similar to Badminton but with a ball and shorter net.
But where did the name come from? The sport was invented in 1965 by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell and Barney McCallum on Bainbridge Island, Washington
According to the Prichard family, Joel’s wife Joan who in the past had been a competitive rower, came up with the name Pickleball because it reminded her of a pickle boat. Which is when you have all rowers of mixed abilities in one boat. The reason being that Pickeball is a mix of all different sports. Tennis, ping pong, golf, badminton, etc…
