This story happened right up 95 in Rhode Island. It starts our scary but turns good in the end.
Two 12 and 13 year old boys heard one of their neighbors smoke detectors going off. They realized no one was home BUT knew the family had 3 dogs who probably were. Quick thinking, they got the alarm code from a neighbor and got inside in time to get all the dogs out safely.
It turns out one of the dogs had jump up on the stove hitting the burner which lit. A wooden cutting board on the stovetop caught fire. Luckily, only the cutting board was destroyed. Fire crews were able to get there in time to save the house as well.
You’ve probably said this when someone is telling you a long winded story or a confusing joke “just cut to the chase!” but what does that even mean… “the chase”?
It goes back to the silent film era. All those movies back then used to be really long love stories that would always end with some crazy thrilling car chase or something. So it was a way to tell someone to skip all the boring details and get to the good exciting part.

If you’re feeling tired in the morning or afternoon you’ve probably heard people tell you to eat an apple instead of going for the coffee. But why?
After all, apples contain no caffeine, but what they do have is about 13 grams of natural sugar. Those sugars create a similar effect to caffeine. The reason is because the vitamins from the apple are releases slowly as you eat it all through your body, which makes you feel more awake. The best part is that you don’t get the crash, mood swings, or anxiety jitters that caffeine causes.
So if you’re dragging today… now you know why to grab an apple!
