Thursday February 1, 2024: Body Oddity; Name That Song; Everywhere You Go

February has begun and Anna is wondering if one particular resolution will be broken immediately…

Anna has three crazy news stories but Raven can only pick one! Today his options are; a woman rescued from inside a garbage truck, a pepperoni vandal, and an Atlanta 911 dispatcher getting some strange calls!

People love their cars, but if you modify just to make it louder, that’s all I need to know about you!

Raven got into a fender bender the other day! Everyone is fine but he swears it wasn’t his fault. Anna isn’t quite so sure…

How well do you know your Disney songs? Raven and Producer Jon are going head to head in Name That Song; Disney Edition!

Are you up to date on this week’s biggest news stories? Anna and Raven will get you caught up on what’s trending, including the Congressional meeting on social media!

Do you have a body oddity? Raven has to have his hats custom made because of the size of his head!

Is there something that you have with you at all times? Producer Sean never leaves the house without Q-tips, but it’s what he does before using them that will really horrify you!

Drew’s mother watches the kids twice a week, and she constantly gives their three and five-year-old sons candy, chips, let them stay up past the bedtime, and watch TV even though they have a screen rule of only one hour per day. His wife, Mary, thinks he needs to stand up to his mom and tell her she has to parent the way they have asked, plus, she thinks that her mother-in-law does this to spite her because she thinks she’s too strict. He says that his mom helps them out on those two nights while they work, you can’t tell her what to do, the kids are safe and happy. What do you think?

Gia has got a shot at $400! All she has to do is beat Raven in pop culture trivia!

THE FEED: Doing CT Trivia Night Right!

THE FEED: Doing CT Trivia Night Right!

Each Tuesday, Kevin and Jenna talk about all things food in Connecticut with Alex from CT Food Girly. Today Alex shares some of the best trivia companies in CT and the local restaurants and bars where you can find them. Start thinking of your team name now and check out Alex’s picks below:

Everyone loves a good trivia night, especially when it’s themed.

Trivia Companies: Best Trivia Ever or BTE: Every week they post their weekly trivia schedule online so you can find the nearest restaurant with BTE trivia in your area. BTE does a great job with engaging and bringing the energy with questions about topics people actually want to talk about as they dine.

Plan B – West Hartford & Milford
Americana Restaurant and Bar & Mecha – West Hartford
Stony Creek – Branford
Bad Sons Beer Co. – Derby
Archie Moore’s – New Haven

All these restaurants and breweries would be great to grab a beer and lay low with friends for trivia night. At the Plan B Burger Bar locations, they have great appetizers like their pulled pork sliders, fried pickles and buffalo coated shrimp. At Archie Moore’s, you can’t go wrong with their famous buffalo style chicken wings and nachos grande. Trivia and bar food, it’s a great combination!

DJ Trivia of CT: I just played this trivia last week with friends at the Stand in Branford. This is fun, interactive and I love the live DJ host. They weren’t too loud, or talking into the mic the entire time, so if you didn’t want to join in, you could still enjoy your night out and actually hear your company.

This week, they will be at Gaetano’s Tavern on Main in Wallingford, Sliders in Wallingford, and back at the Stand in Branford. I do want to note that I had a great meal with some of my foodie friends at the Stand last week, we did their smoked dry rub wings, homemade mac and cheese with bbq pulled pork, smoked steak queso with homemade tortilla chips, the cheese pull on that was unreal, perfect of the gram, and then we finished it off with their homemade desserts.

A great trivia company I have in mind is Big Boy Trivia & Games: I love this company, their website says “Become a master of useless knowledge, join us today”

Every Monday they are at the Dive Bar and every Tuesday they are at Bonfire Grill in Milford, Next Door New Haven and New West in New Haven, Thimble Island in Branford, and Michelangelo’s in New Hartford. They also do virtual trivia nights, jukebox bingo, and karaoke.

On Wednesday nights they do jukebox bingo right down the street from me at Nicky’s Place in East Haven, so I may have to go play! Just to touch upon these restaurants really quick, Next Door New Haven is the same people that serve you the delicious Big Green Pizza truck that we see at all the parties and events, their food is equally tasty as their za. Dive Bar in West Haven has a great beer selection and small bites like pretzels bites, pork belly bites, and steak n cheese egg rolls. I love the occasional bar food night.

Another great trivia company on my list for CT is Bar Rated Trivia and Hot Fingers Trivia. They go all over CT, but a couple from our section of the state are The Bar and 8 Thousand Pizza in Milford. I know 8 Thousand Pizza was recently opened. I love the atmosphere and vibes from inside here. It would be great to have a slice and play some trivia. They even have that nutella pizza. Also, Bear’s Smokehouse in New Haven as well as the Eli’s locations around us, like Hamden and Branford. You can even hire them for private events and I’ve never done that, but I think it would be awesome, especially if you customize the questions to your party.
