MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did station wagon’s get their name?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did station wagon’s get their name?

Unless you’re watching National Lampoon’s Vacation all the time you don’t really see station wagons that often anymore sadly. They were eventually replaced by the minivan, then the SUV. But where did they get their name?

Back when they first came out in the 1920s they had that signature look with the steel frame and wooden paneling on the outside. They were called station wagons because they were initially designed to take the rich and famous to and from a train station with all their luggage.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Delta Flight Attendant comforts nervous passenger in the nicest way possible

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Delta Flight Attendant comforts nervous passenger in the nicest way possible

All of us have some level of nervousness or anxiety when flying. The airport, getting on the plane, the flight itself it can be a very stressful experience.

For this one woman who was on a Delta flight from Charlotte to NYC it was super overwhelming. To the point that one of the flight attendant’s noticed she was having a hard time and decided to go over and comfort her. He sat in the aisle next to her for the ENTIRE flight holding her hand and explaining every sound, bump, and movement that happened. The photo is really nice.

I feel like lately flight attendant’s get a bad reputation with all the viral videos that come out of them dealing with rowdy out of control passengers. So it’s good to have a story like this that shows just how important and helpful they are to all of us who fly.
