TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Group of 5th graders raise money to make playgrounds better for everyone
It’s always great to see kids helping other kids.
This group of 5th graders in Minneapolis recently started raising money to improve their playground so it could be inclusive to kids with disabilities. Their goal for the changes was $300,000, which they have already hit thanks to many anonymous donors. They are now trying to raise even more money to upgrade more playgrounds at other schools.
What a great idea!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is “a Jiffy” a real measurement of time?
We’ve all heard it before. “I’ll be back in a jiffy!”. But what does jiffy really mean? Is it a real measurement? At one point yes it was.
It is technically one trillionth of a second. Back in the 18th and 19th centuries there was a scientist named Gilbert Newton Lewis who figured out that a jiffy was the amount of time it takes light to travel one centimeter in a vacuum. Which is about about 33.4 picoseconds. Or one trillionth of a second.
