TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Off-duty firefighter saves woman from burning car on Route 7

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Off-duty firefighter saves woman from burning car on Route 7

This happened here in Connecticut on Route 7 in Brookfield last weekend. An off-duty firefighter Nicholas Perri Jr. from White Plains was on his way home from work around 3:00 A.M when he saw a car off to the side on the road engulfed in flames!

He pulled over to try and help and ended up pulling the woman from her burning car.  Luckily the ambulance was pulling just as this happened. She only sustained minor injuries after being taken to the hospital.

The firefighters on scene said she was extremely lucky Perri happened to drive by the scene at that hour to get her out when he did, because the gas tank had been ruptured and she didn’t have much time.

The entire thing was caught on dashcam video too. Which is incredible.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What’s the difference between a gift and a present?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What’s the difference between a gift and a present?

As you shop for gifts and presents for everyone on your list this year maybe this question has crossed your mind… what’s the difference between a gift and a present?

Many would say they are one in the same. Which is kind of true. The only subtle difference is that a “gift” can be something more intangible. You could share your gift of being a good cook by making dinner for someone, or performing Christmas carols and sharing your musical gift. Whereas a “present” is normally something you can see and hold to present to someone. That’s why kids are always excited to see how many PRESENTS Santa brought. Because they are things you can open.

Hope you get a lot of gifts AND presents this holiday season.
