TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Johnathon Law Quarterback Gets Rewarded For Amazing Season

Connecticut High School sports have been on fire lately. Especially the 2022 football season last year. One of the standout players was John Neider, Quarterback for Johnathon Law in Milford. He was selected as the Gatorade Connecticut Football Player of the Year! With good reason too. John racked up 4,000 yards of offense and 54 touchdowns last season.

The cool thing about the award is that it also recognizes accomplishments off the field as well. John does a lot of the community such as volunteering at a car wash to raise money for cancer research and when he’s not throwing TD’s he spent time reading to children at the elementary school that HE went to. All while maintaining a 4.18 GPA.

Congrats John!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Which ice cream flavor came first chocolate or vanilla?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Which ice cream flavor came first chocolate or vanilla?

I don’t know why in my head that vanilla was the first ever flavor of ice cream then everything else was just vanilla but adding flavors and ingredients. That’s not the case at all! Chocolate actually came BEFORE vanilla.

This is because the earliest version of frozen desserts started in Naples, Italy, in 1693. Chocolate came first for ice cream because they would take their common drinks such as hot chocolate, coffee, and tea and turn them into frozen desserts.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Physicians Give Awesome News With Update On Damar Hamlin

Some of the best “good news” stories come in the wake of something really bad that happened. Just how life works. And that is what happened earlier today when the Buffalo Bills and Damar Hamlin’s family gave us an update on Damar’s progress…

Apparently he opened his eyes and was holding the hands of his family members. Which has to be the most amazing feeling ever for them.

Sending all our prayers and love to Damar and his family. I think this tweet says it all…

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did coffee tables get their name?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did coffee tables get their name?

Maybe you had friends and family over on New Years Eve and sat around the coffee table in the living room until midnight. But they weren’t always called that.

That name was because of prohibition. Before 1920, these tables were called “cocktail tables.”  When prohibition hit and alcohol became illegal, people started serving coffee to their guests instead. Ever since then the “coffee table” name stuck and has been used ever since.

I always thought they should be called “feet tables” because that’s when everyone does when the plop down on the couch, throws their feet up.
