Monroe, CT – Masuk Drama Department is off to see the Wizard on November 18 and 19th, presenting the MGM classic fantasy musical, The Wizard of Oz live on stage!
When asked why the musical resonates with audiences, Tom Simonetti director of Masuk’s Drama Department, said: “From the time I was a kid, the line that Glinda recites at the end: ‘You always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it yourself’ has always resonated with me.”
“In the past few years, many educators have seen our young people lose their confidence. This is such an inspiring tale about finding and learning about yourself, even through adversity.”
Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. You probably have a few relatives who do their holiday shopping on QVC. I know I do. But what was the first item every purchased on QVC?
The shower radio! When the network first launched in 1986 it was the shower radio they were selling first which cost $11.49 at the time. They did $7,400 in sales too. I feel like the shower radio still a popular item in 2022.

There are many things that give your body the warm and fuzzy signal that the holidays are approaching. One of my favorites is the arrival of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree!
I just loved the imagery of the tree arriving on the flatbed truck and the anticipation of the official tree lighting, which this year will happen on November 30th. It’s a Norway spruce with over 50,000 multicolored LED lights.
When we as humans are going to be in the hot sun too long we put on some sunscreen. But what do animals do? Can they burn like us?
It’s actually a neat trick from mother nature. One example are Hippos’. Their skin can naturally produce sunscreen. Crazy right? Their bodies release a red fluid that works as an anti-bacterial and a sunscreen protecting them in the hot sun of where they mostly live in Africa.
