Every time I watch the show Shark Tank it makes me crazy because I always think “why couldn’t I have invented THIS?!” Maybe someday I will have my big moment.
Like Kevin and Laurie a couple from New Milford, CT. Who recently got an offer from one of Shark Tank’s billionaire investors Kendra Scott. She committed to investing $350,000 in their product and business.
So you’re saying “well, what is it?!” Pretty unique actually. They developed a new way to build sand castles and snow sculptures using a molding material to shape the sand and snow. They started the business in 2017 and now 4 years later were on the show and got the big offer. They even had a viewing party on New Milford’s town green last week when the episode aired.
Good luck to them on the future of their business… that I wish I had thought of!
You might have enjoyed a nice bowl of cereal this morning for breakfast. If so, you probably poured it out of a big rectangle box. Why does cereal come in boxes?
The plastic bag within the box is to preserve the freshness of the cereal. The reason for the cardboard box and that specific shape has to do with making it easy to pack within the truck and also to display on the shelves at the store.
What a blast at this year’s Pinktober 💕 Thanks to everyone who came out and supported Nuvance Health’s breast cancer programs! Great night and a truly great cause 🙏

With Florida still recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Ian there were a lot of dogs that were rescued from the area who now are without homes.
Today around lunchtime a plane with 22 of those dogs arrived at Bradley International Airport up in Hartford. Organized by the Connecticut Humane Society, these dogs will now hopefully be getting the care they need and maybe even a new home.
If you are heading to the movies, a concert, or maybe show on Broadway you most likely bought your tickets from the box office. Even though most people now just buy them online there are some diehards who like to go up to the Box Office window and purchase a real ticket.
So why is it called a Box Office?
Back in the 18th century when the term started being used in newspapers to advertise where people could purchase “box seats” at the theater. These were usually the expensive seats in those little balcony “boxes” you see in some theaters. Regular tickets were purchased by a ticket taker as you walked into the venue.
As time went on they started selling all tickets from the box office.
