TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Mom’s hilarious sandwich fail turns into giving back to others

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Mom’s hilarious sandwich fail turns into giving back to others

We’ve all been there as parents. Making your kid’s school lunch only to have them come home later and tell you how much they hated it.

Luckily this mom turned it into a viral moment and is now giving back to others. A few years ago she posted a video of her kid coming home from his first day of school and telling her that the sandwich she made was terrible.  (Here’s the video.)

What happened was that she didn’t have time to go grocery shopping and since they can’t have peanut butter in school because of other kid’s allergies she made him a butter and jelly sandwich.  Which he obviously wasn’t a fan of.

The good part is that she has now launched a website called TerribleSandwich.com, where they sell merch and raise money for charity and people in need. 50% of the money raised will go to Feeding America they say.

Awesome!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What was the weird bright light in the sky over Connecticut on Saturday?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What was the weird bright light in the sky over Connecticut on Saturday?

If you happened to be looking up to the sky around 7:30-8pm on Saturday night you might have seen an ominous bright light streaking across the sky over Connecticut. As you can imagine the speculation started right away on social media. UFOs, meteors, asteroids, planes… but it was none of those things.

According to Spacex.com, there was a SpaceX launch happening on Saturday of a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. They rocket took off a little after 7:32 p.m. It was then visible to the entire east coast.

They say the rocket has 52 Starlink satellites which were being launched into low-orbit Earth that night.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 29-year-old on a mission to do 30 acts of kindness before he turns 30

We all have bucket list items or things we’d like to accomplish before milestone stages of life. Turning 30, 40, 50 etc… but this 29-year-old from San Francisco has made it his mission to do 30 nice things for people before his 30th birthday in February.

He’s calling it “30 acts by 30” which is also his Instagram handle.

These aren’t just little things either. Anyone can buy someone’s coffee. He’s going BIG like making 400 desserts for firefighters and getting 18 different companies to donate $12,000 each in school supplies. Amazing.

Throw him a follow and see if he can do it before February when he turns 30.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How many leaves fall every year?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How many leaves fall every year?

The leaves are starting to turn and fall to the ground now that the fall season has officially started. But how many fall every year in the U.S.? It’s kind of impossible to know the exact number obviously but since we have the internet someone decided to ballpark it. They figured out that there are approximately 200 billion trees in the country, which have somewhere around 200,000 leaves each. So if you do the math that adds up to around 40 QUADRILLION leaves.  Again, not an official number, but close enough.
