TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: New England couple almost misses their island wedding, police boat saves the day

Your wedding day always comes with a few things you stress over. But imagine being this couple who almost missed their big moment on the island they were getting married on!

The wedding was happening right near Boston last Saturday on a place called Thompson Island, but the vows almost didn’t happen.

The bride got the venue no problem, but it was the groom and groomsmen were waiting for the last ferry across when all the sudden the boat broke down!

Luckily the Boston Harbor Patrol was able to save the day and take the guys across over to the island. Phew!

An officer with the Boston Harbor Patrol used his boat to take them all across.  It turned out the DJ, florist, and wedding photographer all needed a ride too, so they hopped on as well.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Who invented cotton candy?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Who invented cotton candy?

You had it at the circus, maybe at baseball or hockey games, your kids always beg for it… the stickiest of treats, cotton candy. The person who came up with this crazy idea might surprise you.

Cotton Candy’s inventor was a dentist! Back in 1897  Doctor William Morrison brought the idea to candy maker John Wharton, and together they created the sweet snack we all know and love.

Cotton Candy was first premiered in 1908 at the World’s Fair. At that time it only cost $.25 cents.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Father Son duo are saving famous Fairfield beach area landmark

If you’re familiar with the Fairfield area you probably know the Inn at Fairfield Beach. A Staple in the town for years. It was recently put up for sale which worried a lot of residents.

But now a father son duo have swooped in to buy it and save the day. Jeff and Mike Giannone will purchase the Inn for $2million and say they plan to refresh the famous beach area landmark to make it available to people for years to come.

Love seeing this type of thing come together. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
