TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: After a two year hiatus St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are officially BACK!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: After a two year hiatus St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are officially BACK!

Two years ago right around this time the world was shutting down as the Covid-19 pandemic began. All the St. Patrick’s Day parades, celebrations, parties, all were getting cancelled. As someone who LOVES this day it was such a bummer.

But now two years later St. Patrick’s Day is back in a big way. Here in Connecticut you might have seen us in Stamford, New Haven last weekend… and there are more coming up this weekend.

New York City had their big St. Paddy’s day parade this morning for the first time since 2020.

The famous tradition of dying the Chicago river green every year was cancelled in 2020 but returned for 2021 and again today.

It feels good to have it all back again. So raise a Guinness, put on your green, and have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is it St. Patty’s or St. Paddy’s?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is it St. Patty’s or St. Paddy’s?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! You’ve probably seen a lot of people shortening it to either St. Paddy’s or St. Patty’s in your feed and on their posts today. But which one is correct?

Here is the official explanation if you don’t want to make everyone is Ireland mad.

Since Patrick is the English version of the Irish Gaelic name Pádraig, and the nickname for Pádraig is technically Paddy… so St. Paddy’s with a D would be the correct one to use. “Patty” would be short for the female name Patricia which isn’t referencing Saint Patrick at all.

There is even an entire website dedicated to this! Which is hilarious. It’s paddynotpatty.com

Happy St. PADDY’S Day!

She wants him to fire the housekeeper, pool company, and landscapers. She feels that if she’s going to commit to a future with him, she wants to know she’s moving in with a person that can handle and run a house by himself, not with a ton of help.
