TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Breakthrough invention making life easier for wildlife near highways

Good news for deer, bears, and any other wild animals who find themselves living near busy roads. The world’s largest wildlife overpass has started construction in California. When finished it will help animals safely cross the 10-lane highway and avoid accidents.

Not only will it save a lot of lives, car accidents, and animals it will also help booster the population of certain species on the verge of extinction like mountain lions in that area.

Such a great idea. I hope they start to implement it in other areas of the country like here in Connecticut. I can think of a lot of stretches on The Merritt that could use one of these.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is White Chocolate actually Chocolate?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is White Chocolate actually Chocolate?

It seems like it would since it’s in the name right?

I think you know where this is going… White chocolate doesn’t actually have any chocolate at all! It’s made out of a mixture of sugar, milk, vanilla, lecithin, and cocoa butter. Not one trace of actual chocolate.

Wild.

Still very tasty though.

Jobs You Get Yelled At

A video of a man yelling at MLB umpire Angel Hernandez went viral. Seems like umps/refs get yelled at a lot. What’s a profession where it’s normal to get yelled at?

Did you know that Anna and Raven are producing a real movie?  It’s true!  Anna got a chance to visit the movie set this last weekend and she learned all kinds of things about the film industry!  (:30)

It’s official; Elon Musk is buying Twitter!  But Anna was upset to find out that while he was buying Twitter, he was also bullying an old man!  (3:36)

What job gets yelled at the most?  An MLB ref recently got a lot hate over some bad calls and it reminded Anna of the last time she got mad at her daughter’s soccer ref…  (7:21)

What can a 4 year-old do better than a 40 year-old?  Anna saw a reddit thread that asked this question and she figured, since she has a 3 ½ year old at home, she would put it to the test!  (18:36)

Do you like it when people spontaneously break into song in public?  A viral video of musicians singing a song on a plane has got people split over whether its nice or obnoxious.  Anna decided to settle the debate by sending Producer Jon to a local train station to serenade people!  (22:35)

Is Anna out of line?  She went to a concert last weekend and she got very judgmental about what some of the young women there were wearing!  (29:32)

Melissa’s mother went on a date with her boss after they met at a social event that her company hosted, and Melissa brought her mom as her “plus one”.  This bother’s Melissa and would like to tell her mom to call it off, it’s her boss, and it’s awkward. Jason, Melissa’s husband, says that her mother is an adult and can make her own decisions. What would you do?  (37:12)

Nicole has got a shot at $6000!  Can she beat Raven in pop culture trivia and claim the largest jackpot ever?  (44:32)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Belly Flops don’t always have to hurt

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Belly Flops don’t always have to hurt

Usually when you do a belly flop into the pool they are very painful and bad. But they don’t always have to be.

Norwalk High School and P-TECH Norwalk held their 2022 Bear Flop recently after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. Around 40 students, teachers and staff all were part of the fun.

They ended up raising $5,000 for the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital. Which is fantastic! It’s also the more then they raised in years 1 and 2.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Does gum really stay in your stomach forever if you swallow it?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Does gum really stay in your stomach forever if you swallow it?

We’ve all heard this as kids… “don’t swallow your gum, it will stay in your stomach forever!” But is that actually true?

According to this guy… not really. As an autopsy technician he says the only gum he has come across in the stomach has been recently chewed or swallowed.

So even though it doesn’t stay in your forever, probably not a good idea to go swallowing gum all the time. It must still be hard to digest and work through your system.
