TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Two incredible animal rescue stories from totally different climates

This one is for all the animal lovers. Two completely different animals were rescued recently. One in the hot sun of Florida and the other in the freezing cold of Canada

The firsrt story happened in Florida a few weeks ago. Firefighters were able to save a dog who fell down a 15 foot hole. Once they got him out they filled the hole in so it wouldn’t happen again to any other dogs.

The second story was a lot more intense and COLD. It happnened up in Ontario Canada recently when a group of loggers noticed a moose had fell through the ice of a lake they were near. It was a very deep part of the water and the moose apparently had been there for a long time. They were able to break off big chunks of ice to create a channel for the moose to get to a more shallow area. Then they lead the poor thing over until it could touch bottom to walk. At that point the moose climbed out on its own. Truly amazing.

Both stories prove how thankful we are to the heroes who save our beloved animals for dire satiations like this.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do some parts of the country not have any billboards?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do some parts of the country not have any billboards?

If you’ve traveled around the U.S. you may have noticed that certain areas don’t have any billboards on the side of the roads. Some states it’s even illegal!

I know parts of Long Island don’t have any at all. And in Hawaii, Alaska, Maine, and Vermont it is actually illegal to put up any billboards. The reason being to preserve the “scenic beauty” of the land in those states. Which I totally agree with. You can have a 30 foot car dealer ad blocking the lovely Vermont foliage.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are most jeans blue?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are most jeans blue?

While there are all kinds of colors and styles when it comes to jeans the most common popular color is blue. But why?

The reason blue was picked as the color for denim is because of the chemical properties of blue the dye. Most other dyes will permeate fabric in hot temperatures, making the color stick. The natural indigo dye which was used in the first early pairs of jeans would only stick to the outside of the thread. So there actually is a real practical reason behind it.
