TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: This winter just got a lot more delicious for Connecticut

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: This winter just got a lot more delicious for Connecticut

With Labor Day behind us a lot of the seasonal food places here in Connecticut are closing until next summer. Seafood restaurants, outdoor patios, lobster roll shacks and hot dog stands. Even some ice cream shops are closing up for the fall and winter… except for one!

Cone Zone in Milford just announced they will stay open this winter daily from 3-8p.m. They will take a few short breaks around the holidays but other than that you’ll be able to get your ice cream fix.

I know they are always playing Star at Cone Zone so big shout out to all the hard working scoopers there who will be dishing up cups and cones in the cold temps. You’re making us all smile because let’s be honest… ice cream makes everything better.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the Wheel of Fortune “Wheel” made of?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the Wheel of Fortune “Wheel” made of?

If you’re a big fan of Wheel of Fortune this thought has definitely entered your mind at some point. What is that wheel made of?!

I always thought maybe it was digital? Or just a decal? Not quite. It is an actual giant wheel that has 200 lights, 73 steel pins, and weighs 2,400 pounds!!! They do so many travel shows surely there must be more than one “wheel” right? Nope. There’s only one of them, so when the show goes on the road, they have to pack it up and bring it with them.

Fascinating.

You know you’ll be thinking about this next time you watch.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Plumber lands record deal while singing on the job

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Plumber lands record deal while singing on the job

This is the perfect story to show that no matter what path you are on in life it can suddenly take a giant pivot at any time when you least expect it.

This plumber named Kev Crane was working on a job fitting a bathroom in a house. While he was working each day he would sing along to the radio. He naturally has a really good voice. By chance, the owner of the house he was working in also own a RECORD LABEL! After hearing him sing the record label owner decided to sign him to a deal and make an album.

He’s working on songs now to come out the rest of the year. The funniest part is he kept working on finishing the bathroom project even while recording in the studio which was also in the house.

Good luck Kev!

Here’s the video of him singing:
