TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD! Bradley International Airport welcomes back some furry friends

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD! Bradley International Airport welcomes back some furry friends

Today is National Dog Day and what a perfect day for Bradley International Airport to bring back their Bradley Buddies Therapy Dog program. The program was obviously paused at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Connecticut Airport Authority is welcoming back the popular therapy dogs and their handlers to the airport.

As of today (Thursday, August 26th) the Bradley Buddies teams will be once again greeting passengers inside the airport’s terminal on a regular basis.

The Bradley Buddies Therapy Dog program was first launched at the airport in 2017 and since then has grown in popularity and in size. There are now a total of 17 teams, with all therapy dogs trained by Bright Spot Therapy Dogs, Inc. Therapy dogs are known to help provide comfort and alleviate stress, including in airport settings.

So if you’re flying anytime soon out of Hartford keep in eye out for the adorable Bradley buddies.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Are dogs actually born color blind?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Are dogs actually born color blind?

It’s National Dog Day today! So today’s mystery has to do with our loveable furry friends. You’ve probably heard the myth that dogs are born colorblind and only see black and white. Is this true? Kind of, but not exactly.

Puppies are actually born deaf.  They can’t hear until they’re around three weeks old.  But dogs aren’t colorblind like in the traditional sense like a lot of people think.  They can actually see blue and yellow pretty well! So keep that in mind next time you’re buying their toys or anything they can see. Blue and yellow will be their favorites.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 14-year-old boy gets one step closer to his basketball dreams thanks to his neighbors

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 14-year-old boy gets one step closer to his basketball dreams thanks to his neighbors

Sometimes all it takes to fulfill your dream is a little help from your neighbors.

This 14-year-old in Canada named Anthony absolutely loves basketball and he spends all the time he can in his driveway practicing his dribbling skills. Recently one of his neighbors came over to the house and knocked on the door. Anthony was afraid they were going to be mad and complain that his dribbling was too loud. Turns out they wanted to support and help him out!

The reason Anthony would only practice his dribbling and not shooting is because he didn’t have an actual basketball hoop! Once people in his town caught wind of this they all pitched in money and bought him one. They even got a local business to donate too. Anthony can now practice his jump shot and hopes to play in the NBA one day.

The coolest part… his favorite player, Lebron James, heard about the story and shouted him out on his Instagram. How cool is that?!

MUDANE MYSTERIES: What makes flamingos pink?

MUDANE MYSTERIES: What makes flamingos pink?

Flamingos are one of the most unique animals on the planet. What makes them that beautiful color though?

The are not born pink. In fact when flamingos are born their feathers are a greyish white color. What makes them eventually turn pink is the chemicals called carotenoids which are in all the algae and fish the consume throughout their lives.

Nature is so crazy!
