Wednesday, April 28, 2021: Wellness Wednesday; Lovey; Your Spot

Wednesday, April 28, 2021: Wellness Wednesday; Lovey; Your Spot

How do you know when you’ve gotten old?  Anna considers herself a millennial, but Raven insists that she’s a couple years too late.  So, Anna found an article about how you can tell if you’re old!  And if you’ve said one or more of these phrases recently, you might be over the hill! (:30)

Raven has seen every movie and TV show ever.  Or at least that’s how it feels to Anna, who hasn’t seen most famous movies.  So Raven brings her up to speed by doing two sentence summaries of some of the most famous movies of all time!  Who knew you could summarize a movie as long as “The Sound of Music” in only sentences? (2:53)

It’s always nice to read a good book, but if you’re reading while operating dangerous, heavy machinery, that’s all I need to know about you!  (10:39)

Rebecca beat Raven yesterday and won $3,600!  But how did she do it?  Anna and Raven spoke to Rebecca today to get an inside look at what strategies she used to finally end Raven’s epic winning streak!  (13:38)

Do you still have a lovey?  You know, a stuffed animal or blanket you’ve had since your childhood?  Both of Anna’s daughters have loveys, in fact her youngest has 4!  But the amount of adults that still sleep with loveys will shock you… (17:37)

Do you have a “spot” that belongs to you, even though it really doesn’t?  A specific side of the bed?  A seat in the conference room?  A parking space?  Anna and her husband have slept on the same side of the bed for 20 years, and Raven is fiercely protective of his parking spot at work.  But one caller actually got into a fight over a machine at the gym!  (28:01)

What if you could something, right now, for free that would immediately make you happier?  This Wellness Wednesday, Anna and Raven go over the four things you can do right now to immediately improve your mood.  You don’t even have to get off your couch to do #4!  (35:06)

Couples Court: Maureen and Nathan’s ten-year-old daughter got into a fist fight with another child at school. She was suspended from school and mom is furious. She is madder at her husband because he didn’t punish her and told her she did the right thing. Nathan says the girl she hit is a bully and she has made fun of their daughter’s weight a few times, she deserved to be punched in the face. Mom says that’s not how you handle disagreements, their daughter was wrong to throw the first punch. Dad says she had gone to the teachers in the past and the bully called her fat again, she should have hit her harder. Whose side are you on? (39:01)

Raven is ready to get a new winning streak going, but first he has to beat Diane in pop culture trivia!  (47:25)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 11 Baby Ducks Saved From Storm Drain Using Cell Phone

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 11 Baby Ducks Saved From Storm Drain Using Cell Phone

This one is for anyone who has a soft spot for animals.

Last week in California 11 baby ducks fell into a storm drain. The animal control officer who arrived on the seen decided to coax them to come out by playing mother duck sounds on her cell phone. Brilliant idea. And the best part is, it worked!

Animal control doesn’t get enough credit. They’re out here saving animals every day. They need more praise.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is the Worldwide Wildlife Fund logo a panda bear?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is the Worldwide Wildlife Fund logo a panda bear?

This is very random I know, but I’ve always wondered why the Worldwide Wildlife Fund chose a panda bear as their logo. Out of all the wildlife they could’ve picked.

The answer is pretty funny actually. It all comes down to saving money. The panda being black and white cuts down on the cost of printing. Which makes total sense. I guess they could’ve went with a zebra or skunk too, but the panda seems more cuddly.

You know what wouldn’t be cheap to print? A parrot logo!

Buying something on Facebook marketplace can be awkward, especially during the meet up.  But if you went through all the trouble of arranging a place to meet up, putting the item in your car and driving to meet the person, only to have them do THIS, that’s all I need to know about you!  (4:55)

Are you up to date on what’s trending?  Don’t worry, Anna and Raven have already read the entire internet, and can get you up to speed!  This morning the current trends are; Pink Supermoon, Google Maps, and Cashiers.  Why?  Anna and Raven will explain!  (8:56)

Can you think like a stranger?  Anna and Raven have an Amazon Echo to give away, and all you have to do to win is answer five crazy questions!  If your answers match a stranger that Producer Jon interviewed, you win the prize!  (15:00)

How did you tell people about your divorce?  Did you make a big social media announcement or keep it quiet?  Nowadays it can be hard to go through a painful life change like that with everybody sharing everything online.  One caller has put off announcing anything for 6 years, and you won’t believe the reason why!  (17:38)

How you ever had to ride in an ambulance?  Anna was surprised at the number of ambulance rides that involved theme parks, but that’s nothing compared to how surprised she was at how many pregnant women called in with their stories!  (24:45)

Couples Court: Rick drives their six- and eight-year-old daughters to school in his landscaping truck every morning. They complain to mom (Jessica) all the time that they are so embarrassed. Jessica thinks he’s being petty, he can go bring them to school in their family car (she’s a nurse and already at work early in the morning) and then go home to pick up his truck. He says it adds 30 minutes to his morning commute! They can deal with the humiliation. Whose side are you on?  (35:52)

Rebecca is feeling confident that she can beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  Will his epic winning streak finally end?  (42:13)
