TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: This 99-Year-Old Woman Will Make You Want To Work Out Immediately

If you searching for some Monday motivation to get up and work out today look no further than THIS story.

Dinkie Flowers is a 99-year-old woman living in England. She used to be a professional dance and is still in great shape for her age now. She started raising money for charity by hosting 45-minute dance sessions three times a week and plans to continue them until her 100th birthday in May.

You go Dinkie! We could all use this kind of drive.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is it called “dessert”?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is it called “dessert”?

We’ve all enjoyed a delicious dessert in our lives. But where does the word actually come from?

Dessert actually derives from the French term desservir which means “to clear the table”. The term was first used in 1539 and was referring to delicate fruits and nuts which were served to guests at dinner parties back then after the grand main meal was over. Once the “table was cleared”.

Raven’s Pet Pals – Meet Mayflower!

Raven’s Pet Pals – Meet Mayflower!

Mayflower is a social and petite 3-year-old pit bull terrier mix who’s eager to be part of a doting family. She came to an animal shelter as part of a cruelty case and is looking forward to better days ahead. She’s still quite a bit underweight but is sure to gain and heal in a stable home. Mayflower has plenty of energy for whatever you want to do. She could be a great walking buddy, play time partner or springtime adventure friend. Mayflower also likes to cuddle and give kisses so would make a great chill time companion too. She likes other dogs but can sometimes be a bit bossy and opinionated so would probably do best as a solo pet. She’s going to flourish in a home willing to give her lots of attention and help her on her journey of healing.

For more information on Mayflower or other pets up for adoption, you can visit PAWS at their website pawsct.org

Monday March 22nd, 2021: Credit Due; Embarrassing Falls; Eating Something That Isn’t Food

Anna’s daughter has a crush! Anna was so excited, and asked her daughter if she was passing him notes. Remember when you used to pass people notes? Well, Anna’s daughter just looked confused, and Anna suddenly realized something….

Have you ever had an embarrassing fall? Raven once tripped and fell in front of a huge crowd of people introducing a band, but that’s nothing compared to the brutally humiliating fall that Anna took at a friend’s wedding! (2:49)

Rich people certainly can’t solve all the worlds problems, but if you’re a billionaire, and you’re still posting THIS, that’s all I need to know about you! (6:42)

Are you a fan of small talk? What are the cliché conversations you’ll be having by the water cooler this Monday morning? Anna and Raven recap the weekend news that you know everyone is going to be talking about! (10:20)

March Gladness continues! Anna and Raven take your votes to see what makes you happier! Today’s matchup is between two champions of cheer; Hitting All Green Lights vs. Getting 2 Items From a Vending Machine. Find out who wins in the podcast and vote online or call in to vote for tomorrow’s match-up! (13:04)

Did you do something nice this weekend and not get any credit for it? Anna and Raven will give you the credit due! Anna used her daughter to avoid an embarrassing situation at the post office, and thinks her daughter deserves a little more credit for helping Mom out! (18:56)

Have you ever eaten something, only to realize that it wasn’t actually food? Over the weekend, Anna and her friend decided to indulge themselves in a cheat meal! The food was delicious, but all of a sudden, Anna’s friend pulled something crazy out of her mouth! (25:39)

Nathan’s father recently passed away and left a decent amount of money as an inheritance. He’s always wanted to open his own “All American Pub”, burgers, beers, just a feel-good family place. His wife, Joanna, doesn’t understand this dream and now that he wants to quit his accountant job (that’s been financially stable and given them a good life) to do this, she is very much against it. They can just save this money for the kid’s college; they barely have anything saved. (34:43)

Chris has a shot at $1000! Can he beat Raven at pop culture trivia and claim the prize? (41:50)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Connecticut’s March Madness Connections

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Connecticut’s March Madness Connections

Today and this weekend is the first day of the NCAA Tournament for the men and women. After last year’s tournament’s got cancelled because of the pandemic fans were itching to fill out their brackets and watch some hoops this year.

Here in Connecticut we have a  great history of basketball success in these tourney’s. UCONN is the only school in the country who has had their men’s and women’s teams win the national championship in the same year. And get this… they’ve done it TWICE! Both Huskies teams were champs in 2004 and 2014.

This year the UCONN women are the 1 seed and play Sunday at 8pm. The men are the 7 seed play Saturday night at 7pm.

The other fun Connecticut storyline to this year’s Men’s tournament is that the University of Hartford Hawks made it in for first time ever! As of the writing of this post they are the 16 seed and playing at 3:30pm today (Friday) against the heavy favorite Baylor who is the 1 seed. Good luck to all the Connecticut teams this year!
