MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is green the color of St. Patrick’s Day?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is green the color of St. Patrick’s Day?

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up tomorrow I figured this would be a good mystery to solve so you know why you’re wearing all that green.

The color green was first used in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations back in the 18th century. This is when the shamrock first became a national symbol in Ireland. Because of how popular the shamrock became and with Ireland’s landscape looking VERY green, the color just stuck over all these years.

Can someone pass the green scrambled eggs please?!

After a year of living with the virus, many people are still stocking up on certain supplies from the grocery store.  Raven was one of the first people in the office to start stocking up on supplies, and Anna made so much fun of him a year ago!  Now though?  Let’s just say things have changed…  (17:35)

Darryl and Erica are trying to save money because both their salaries have been cut back. She wants to cancel the house cleaning service since it’s an extra expense of $300 a month.  He thinks it’s the most important money they spend because of the time they save from not doing the cleaning themselves. He also thinks she’s a terrible cleaner and thinks it will hinder their marriage and quality time together. Whose side are you on?  (34:52)

Jessica has got a shot at $600!  Can she defeat Raven in pop culture trivia and win the jackpot?  (40:49)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Show Store Owner Retires, Donates Entire Inventory To Charity

With so many small businesses struggling lately it’s always great to see a nice story like this one.

The owner of a local shoe store in Vancouver who’s 91-years-old is retiring after running the place for over 70 years. Instead of trying to sell all the inventory of shoes he decided to donate all of it to the Salvation Army. What a wonderful thing to do!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say call being sick “Under The Weather”?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say call being sick “Under The Weather”?

No one likes feeling under the weather, but where did that term even come from?

It originates from the maritime world. Back in the old days when a sailor was sick while on a ship or boat they were sent below deck to help them recover. The reason being to send them under the deck “under” or away from the element of the weather outside. Originally it was a term they used for being seasick, but now is using for any type of cold like illness.
