TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Decades Later Woman Gets Back Her Lost Wedding Ring Just In Time For Valentine’s Day

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Decades Later Woman Gets Back Her Lost Wedding Ring Just In Time For Valentine’s Day

I love a good lost and found story. This one couldn’t be any better heading into Valentine’s Day Weekend.

A woman who lives in San Antonio lost her wedding ring 48 years ago where she used to live in Chicago. She dropped it in the snow outside her grandparents house in 1973 and never found it.

Fast forward to present day… the person who lives in that house now was gardening and found the ring while digging in the dirt. She posted a photo of it on Facebook and two people in her town’s historical society noticed initials engraved on the band. They started to play detective and eventually found out whose it was by searching through old property records.

They got in touch with the woman and gave her the ring back almost 50 years later. Crazy!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we celebrate Valentine’s Day with candy?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we celebrate Valentine’s Day with candy?

Box of chocolate, candy hearts, Hersey kisses, Valentine’s Day is truly all about the delicious sweet treats. But why?

It all originated with girls of medieval times. They used to eat bizarre foods on St. Valentine’s Day to try and make them dream of their future husband. I guess a deep sugar fueled dream might do that? Ha ha.

Then a man named Richard Cadbury (love those eggs Richard!) invented the first ever Valentines Day candy box in the late 1800s. This was the first time candy was used as a celebration around the holiday and its been that way ever since.

Now I’m REALLY craving some chocolate.

Gorilla Glue has been in the news a lot this week, so if you STILL think that it’s not that strong and you do THIS to try and prove it, that’s all I need to know about you!  (7:30)

Every week, Raven’s wife Alicia calls in to give him a grade on how he’s been doing as a husband.  The last couple weeks he’s been averaging a C-, but maybe this is the week he turns it around!  He DID do something pretty nice for Alicia while she was out on a girl’s night…  (11:24)

President’s Day and Valentine’s Day have nothing to do with each other.  Until NOW!  Anna and Raven play “Who’s the Hottest President”!  And it’s not just the usual ones, like JFK, Reagan and Obama.  Anna thinks that THIS Civil War era President is super hot!  (14:53)

Roses are red, violets are blue, Anna and Raven have some poems for you!  Anna and Raven had 5th graders write their own Valentine’s Day poems, and the results are AMAZING!  (18:51)

A few days ago, Comedienne and Dating Expert Courtney Davis had Ann and Raven spin the “Wheel of Romance”!  The wheel had a bunch of romantic gestures that Anna and Raven had to do for their significant other.  Well, they did it, they recorded it, and you won’t believe what Raven had to wear for his wife while cleaning the house!  (25:23)

Natalie and Shawn’s 19-year-old daughter, who is a college freshman, has just informed them that her new boyfriend is 37 years old and divorced. He also has a three-year-old from his first marriage. Dad is not happy about it and says he will not continue to pay for her school if she continues with this relationship.  Mom says that if they threaten her with that it’ll only cause more problems.  They need to just say they don’t approve and then hope she makes up her own mind to move on. Whose side are you?  (32:15)

Tracy thinks she has what it takes to beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  Can she win the $400 jackpot, or will Raven’s winning streak continue?  (40:11)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Getting Vaccines To Homebound Seniors Becoming A Nice Trend Lately

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Getting Vaccines To Homebound Seniors Becoming A Nice Trend Lately

With the Covid-19 vaccine rolling out across the country not everyone has the ability to get to a vaccination site, especially seniors.

Luckily there are now programs being used to get people vaccinated even if they can’t leave the house. Like 97-year-old Dorothy Loper from Bridgeport. Dorothy is a WWII Navy Veteran who was able to get her shot from the Bridgeport Fire Department along with health officials from the City of Bridgeport.

My grandfather who lives up in Massachusetts, also a WWII veteran, was able to get his shot at home as well through the same type of program. My cousin who works as a rapid response nurse at the nearby hospital was able to give him the shot. Which was pretty awesome.

If you know someone here in the Bridgeport area who may qualify for an at home vaccine you can get more info about setting it up by calling  203-576-7993. Stay safe!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does Cupid shoot arrows?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does Cupid shoot arrows?

With Valentine’s Day coming up this weekend I was wondering why Cupid shoots arrows?

One of Cupid’s Roman names is Cupido. Which means “desire”.  In both Greek and Roman Mythology, Cupid always had a bow and arrow with him that he would use to shoot the power of love (shout out, Huey!) at whatever and whoever he wanted.  That’s a lot of power for one little guy and his arrows.
