You’ve probably driven be a Motel 6 or Super 8 a million times here in Connecticut and thought to yourself the same thing I do. What do the numbers mean?!
Both places got their names from the original prices of the rooms. Motel 6 started at $6 in 1962, and Super 8 at $8.88 in 1974.
Now in 2021 it’s like $80 for a Motel 6 room. I just looked it up. They should have to change the number each time the price goes up. “Hi yes, Motel 80 I’d like a room for this weekend”

Chrissy, Aaron, and their three children are very close with another family. For years they’ve done everything together, BBQ’s, vacations, and during the pandemic, that’s stayed the same. Recently the families discovered the their thirteen-year-old daughter and their friends fourteen-year-old son have developed a relationship. Mom says they must put a stop to this for so many reasons; like they’re too young, and what about the damage it could to both families’ relationship when they inevitably break up. Dad thinks if they’re going to be dating people as they grow up it would make more sense for it to be someone they know and given all the time they’ve all spent together, it’s only natural. Whose side are you on? (32:45)

This one eight-year-old boy in Washington state has been making his own keychains and selling them for $5 each. He’s already made $4,000! The best part is he is using all the money to pay off all the lunch debt in his school. He’s raised do much money that he’s also helping with SIX other schools in the area too.
Such a great story. The keychains are super cool too! Check them out here.

I’ve always wondered this. Why do bananas look like they do?
The reason behind it is that bananas go through a process called “negative geo-tropism”. Which I can hardly pronounce, but it basically is a fancy way to say that they grow upwards towards the sun instead of towards the ground like some other foods. Which is what causes the curved shape.
