TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Pandemic Causes Huge Spike In Students Applying To Become Nurses
We talk about “The good in this” a lot during this segment every day. Meaning that even we you go through really difficult times, like a worldwide pandemic, there is always good that can come out of it. This is a perfect example.
Since the start of the pandemic there has been a record number of students applying to become nurses. One new report out of the U.K. says that applications are up 32%. There has also been a big spike here in the U.S. too.
A wonderful reminder that we have so many great people willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to help each other.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is Mars red?
After yesterday’s historic mission by NASA to land on Mars I figured we would tackle one of the most mysterious things about the planet. Why is it red?
A lot of the rocks on Mars are full of iron. So when they are exposed to air and the outdoors they tend to oxidize and get that reddish color. Same reason your bulkhead or an old bike left outside would get rusty. When the dust from the rusty rocks starts to peel off and get in the atmosphere the sky around Mars starts to look pink.
Maybe one day we will all be able to go see it up close in person!
